The Mother of All Democracies is, Mother

Image
The Heavens gave birth to the mother, but the mother, through unconditional love, reason, and empathy, opens the child's eyes to Heaven. It is through that experience contrasting with a relatively uncaring world, that sets the child in conflict with the world, and from whence  hence, rises philosophy, religion, the arts, and democracy.  And in that, the Mother serves as the midwife delivering Heaven on earth. Look around the world. Where the democratic and multicultural impulse is the strongest, there is the Mother most venerated. That is why the careerisation, or corporatisation, of the woman was the prelude to the decline of the democratic impulse and the rise of the corporatocracy.  LGBT, Eurofeminism, and Pro-Abortion further drove the stake into the empathetic and reasonable soul of humanity via the alienation of the mother and child. It was not by chance that God fashioned Woman out of the rib of Adam, as that symbolises Woman being the ...

Mother

Image
Why it is difficult for fascism to take root, or be acceptable, in the Indian, or the true sons and daughters of all the true mothers of the world, is due to the veneration of the Mother figure over all else.   And the veneration of the Mother is very much pronounced in India, with great songs, odes, proverbs, words, religious tales extolling the virtue that is Mother. That too, contributes to the veneration of the cow, as the sound of the cow, the care it gives to the calf, its providing milk, illustrates the idea of the mother.  From the veneration of the mother comes the respect for all. No king, not the wealthy, nor the popular, nor even the Gods or Heavens, can claim ascendency over the Mother. That is why no government can own the one who venerates Mother above all, or the true son and daughter, in their entirety, as sooner or later, s/he will remember her mother's love and use that to scrutinise any earthly body's claim to infallibility....

Why Hindu Nationalists are Anti-Hindu

Image
The division of India into India and Pakistan simply served to amplify the differences between the Muslims and Hindus. Yes, there were tensions between the two sectors that was accentuated by British colonial policies of 'divide and conquer/rule', but these tensions DO predate British incursion into Bharat ('India'). Much of these tensions, we have to admit, was due to Muslim intolerance of difference in the historical 'Mughal' past. They did, historically speaking, demolish temples, and even line the steps of some mosques with the debris of said demolished temples to claim ascendence over the Hindus. Over time, there was integration, and Muslim assimilation into the Indian multicultural view of things, as laudably illustrated in the Taj Mahal being a national symbol of Bharat. And this multicultural character of India is also further illustrated by the Dharma Chakra on the Flag of India, popularised by Buddhism, but which is also a part of Hinduism and Jain...

The west and Indian culture

Image
"Look girl, either you can focus on guys in college or on studies" - just one of the unusual conversations heard in a women-only carriage” - bbc following extracted from BBC Facebook Diane Knight : Can’t you have both!!!!??? Leon Gabriel Kharkongor : Different parts of India have different mentalities. Delhi does not represent the whole of India. Gerard Takiwa : Well done BBC ... For telling India...to step out of the dark and embrace the light ! Sharmaine Mohan : Indians embrace light almost 10000 yrs ago buddy...Educate yourself before making stupid comments.... Ed : You can't blame Gerard too much Sharmaine. Gerard, after all, is product of his western media, unlike us, who pay attention to everything that goes on everywhere. Hence, we are endowed with more perspectives, whereas they don't know anything other than Hollywood and their own culture of drinking, eating, walking dogs, worshipping celebs and footballers.

Prashanti R: Well said edwin Lakha Singh : More t...

Being a Catholic and doing Yoga

Image
For many people, the main concern in a yoga class is whether they are breathing correctly or their legs are aligned. But for others, there are lingering doubts about whether they should be there at all, or whether they are betraying their religion. Farida Hamza, a Muslim woman living in the US (pictured above), had been doing yoga for two or three years when she decided she wanted to teach it. "When I told my family and a few friends, they did not react positively," she recalls. "They were very confused as to why I wanted to do it - that it might be going against Islam." Their suspicions about yoga are shared by many Muslims, Christians and Jews around the world and relate to yoga's history as an ancient spiritual practice with connections to Hinduism and Buddhism Last year, a yoga class was banned from a church hall in the UK. "Yoga is a Hindu spiritual exercise," said the priest, Father John Chandler. "Being a Catholic church we have to promote ...

India, on the way to Mars. Good.

Image
India has successfully launched a spacecraft to the Red Planet - with the aim of becoming the fourth space agency to reach Mars. The Mars Orbiter Mission took off at 09:08 GMT from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on the country's east coast. The head of India's space agency told the BBC the mission would demonstrate the technological capability to reach Mars orbit and carry out experiments. The spacecraft is set to travel for 300 days, reaching Mars orbit in 2014. - bbc Great! India is finally taking on the west in the latter’s game. But in running head to head with an upstart, don't forget your own unique soul. Winning is not upstaging a competitor, but in being all that you can be at your own game despite the competitor not bothering about it.

And as for those in the west who condemn India for not bothering about a fair bit of its impoverished population, well, the Indians don't have the benefit of colonising other states and ripping them off so that they can affo...

Should India be Grateful for British colonialism or present aid?

Image
The forthcoming launch of a spacecraft to Mars by India is likely to stoke the fires of a burgeoning Asian space race. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is making its final preparations to send an orbiter to the Red Planet. The principal aim is to test out India's space technology to see if this emerging space-faring nation is capable of interplanetary missions. The spacecraft will also collect scientific information about the planet's atmosphere and surface. - bbc Bob Weir : And we give millions in aid to India every year. Emma Louise : Nice to see our aid money being spent wisely!

Michael J Miller: You would think India would have better things to be spending their money on considering how poverty stricken their people are! Mark Wilson : Is this the same India we give £millions of aid every year?
Anna Jones: Goodness knows why we give aid to a country that has its own flippin space program!! Brenda Poole : one of the poorest countries and they spend ther money a...

Gandhi as the founder of both contemporary Pakistan and India

Image
The following is a consideration of the view that Gandhi was a founder of India, and not India and Pakistan. It was posted as a comment on Imran’s site . It's been slightly elaborated upon for clarity below. Just a thought. Gandhi wasn't the founder of modern India. Rather, he was the founder of both modern India and Pakistan. The division between either was the work of Jinnah, amongst others. But it was Gandhi, amongst others, who sought and acquired the independence of the land later divided as India and Pakistan. The division was a technicality, and wasn't necessary for independence to be acquired. That's an important point. You could say that Jinnah et al basically claimed possession of a portion of that which Gandhi et al had acquired for ALL of the peoples of India. The partition should never have been. They should have learnt to live together. Well, that's India for you. My mom always thought it ridiculous that the partition was allowed to happen. India was...
