America. The 'Greatest Nation on Earth'?

Image
I've been watching The Punisher series on Netflix over the past week. Not that i like such stuff, but this one meets my minimum standard of having some sort of plot that isn't a constant insult to my intelligence. Anyway, i kept hearing pro-america nonsense on it.  There's one chick by the name of Madani who works for 'Homeland Security', and at one point she tells her mother what a great country america is because an immigrant like her (mother) can get really rich there. And that's why, 'it has to be protected'. 'Huh?' moi mildly exclaimed, "But you can't get rich without it being at the expense of those who aren't!  The capitalist system, which is pyramidal in aspirational shape, will only allow a limited number of people to the upper echelons, whilst the rest will have to slog below them right. What shite." (Yes, I'm inclined to talk to myself whilst watching american movies as my critique tends to make the experienc...

The Value of Division

Image
"At the opening ceremony for World Youth Day in Panama on Thursday, Pope Francis asked participants to let themselves be united across lands and cultures by the love of Christ.  “We come from different cultures and peoples, we speak different languages and we wear different clothes. Each of our peoples has had a different history and lived through different situations. We are different in so many ways!” he said.   The Pope asked the youth to say yes to the love of Christ through a culture of encounter, which unites people from different places and cultures. Pope Francis: “...we know that the father of lies prefers people who are divided and quarrelling to people who have learned to work together.” - cna   Matthew chapter 10. 34. Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth: it is not peace I have come to bring, but a sword. 35. For I have come to set son against father, daughter against mother, daughter-in-law against mother-in-law; 36. a person'...

Race Religion Politics Wealth, in brief

Image
Makavelli  (on facebook) : We are all humans until... Race disconnected us, Religion separated us, Politics divided us, And wealth classified us. ed : Race didn't disconnect us, it gave us the opportunity to have different experiences and share it. Religion didn't separate us, it gave us different ideas that, when joined, forms a beautiful whole. Politics didn't divide us, it just distinguished between the ignorant or self-abosorbed and those who weren't. Wealth didn't classify us, its disproportionate distribution did. It is not in avoiding the above that we become human, but in realising and resolving it.  Navigate wisely and with empathy through such division, and it will deliver your multiplication. e X

Western Christianity vs Christianity

Image
"Every time Christians recite the Apostles’ Creed, they affirm their belief in what will happen to them after death: “'I believe in the resurrection of the body and life everlasting.”   The belief in the resurrection of one’s physical body at the end of time is central to Christian theology, and finds its basis in the resurrection of Christ, who rose in body and soul three days after his passion and death.   But according to a recent Pew survey, 29 percent of Christians in the US hold the New Age belief of reincarnation - the belief that when one’s body dies, one’s soul lives on in a new and different body, unrelated to the first." - CNA W e Christians, in the non-white world, must realise that the evolution of 'Christianity' is tied with the evolution of the western/white mind. It is tied with their political machinations, elitism, and also their violent and colonial exploits. It is tied with their cultural inbreeding, their ignorance of other cultures and perspe...

Christmas & the Art of Gift-Giving

Image
Throughout the year, humans exist largely as ‘employees’. This means that people generally engage in those characteristics that make us ‘human’, such as listening, acting on, exhibiting interest, exercising imagination, interacting meaningfully and striving aspirationally solely at work . Everything else is generally ‘compensatory’ or ‘recuperative’. That is, they do what they do outside of work not because it is an avenue via which they express themselves – or other aspects of their personas – but simply because it helps them to recuperate from the myriad of maladies they suffer as a consequence of their absorption within the work environment.  Hence, social life is reduced to the status of a reservoir from which they drink in order to be rejuvenated for work. In other words, life becomes little more than a means to work as opposed to the inverse. Christmas, ...amongst others, however, demands that life, excluding ‘work’, be celebrated. It demands that humans be validated as being...

Why Hindu Nationalists are Anti-Hindu

Image
The division of India into India and Pakistan simply served to amplify the differences between the Muslims and Hindus. Yes, there were tensions between the two sectors that was accentuated by British colonial policies of 'divide and conquer/rule', but these tensions DO predate British incursion into Bharat ('India'). Much of these tensions, we have to admit, was due to Muslim intolerance of difference in the historical 'Mughal' past. They did, historically speaking, demolish temples, and even line the steps of some mosques with the debris of said demolished temples to claim ascendence over the Hindus. Over time, there was integration, and Muslim assimilation into the Indian multicultural view of things, as laudably illustrated in the Taj Mahal being a national symbol of Bharat. And this multicultural character of India is also further illustrated by the Dharma Chakra on the Flag of India, popularised by Buddhism, but which is also a part of Hinduism and Jain...

The White Man vs Us

Image
The BBC asked on a Facebook post, 'What is the most dangerous animal on earth'? ed: "The white man.....colonialism, the colonial holocaust, world wars, nuclear bombs, terrorism, rampant capitalism, genocides-via-embargoes, supporting terror, colluding with terroristic governments and states, coke, macdonalds, gory movies, shaky cameras, lady gaga, like buttons.....amongst others." They don't need to prove you're wrong.  They just need to prove it offends.   White media is the biggest whitewash in human history. eX Given that the west promotes 'white worship', through their movies, the way they skew their news to present themselves as the good guys, heroes to be marvelled at, civilised, progressive, great humanitarians, there is a need to view this situation in a dichotomous, 'Us vs the White Man'. The best way for any sector to promote an agenda is to de-racialise or de-sectorise itself.  In this context, to take away one's focus on them a...

Are You Intellectually-Deficient Enough to Want a Rolex?

Image
"How to Spot a Fake Rolex  The company uses the best steel on earth called “904L steel”, which is more rust and corrosion resistant. Rolex also makes, alloys and rolls its own precious metals to ensure the exact integrity of every watch.  Everything is crafted to absolute perfection, so take a closer look at the case, crown, hands, bezel, bracelet, and clasp – if anything comes across as sub-par quality, then you can be pretty sure it’s not the real deal." - bobswatches Now, why on earth do you need something to be made from the 'best steel on earth'? So it will outlast you by a thousand years? Why's that? I have a Seiko 5 from the 70s, and it's still going strong. And Rolex rolls their own precious metals to 'ensure the exact integrity' of the watch? What is that supposed to mean - 'integrity of the watch'? So that it will still function perfectly, or hold its shape even though its been rolled over by a steamroller whilst attached to your...

Toward a non-European Socialist Vision

Image
We need to distinguish between EuroSocialism and Socialism. In Eurosocialism, there is an avowed belief that culture is formed by economic development.  And hence, they attempt to take control of human evolution through control of the economic milieu. Whilst that is in part true, we have to realise that culture is not thoroughly formed in the west as it might in other parts of the world like India and China. European socialism is more 'technical'.  It deals with the body, not the mind or spirit. In these parts, culture, rather than 'being formed' by economic development, can instead be used to interpret economic development or even challenge it, like Buddhism did more than 2000 years ago in the face of the growth of the capitalist tendency in parts of India, or Sannyasins (wandering ascetics) did in the past, and to a smaller degree, in the present. One could even state plausibly that Buddhism was the world's first Socialist movement. Even Japan had to get rid of B...

Meh?

Image
I keep seeing this silly word all over the place (oh dear, the american juvenile again...).  Well, I finally searched for its meaning, and discovered that it is supposed to mean, 'not impressive', or a nonchalant monosyllabic ejaculation of disinterest.  So an expressive ejaculation by an ill-educated american teen who's inclined toward reaction as opposed to cogitation becomes a word.  I see. Such ‘words’ - OMG, LOL, Meh, et cetera - are like gaseous reactions, like flatulence, or a much awaited burp from a child with colic.  It relieves one of the need to justify their 'meh'.  It's a proclamation of judgement based on ‘feeling’, with such a reaction being mistaken for explanation - not unlike words like ‘eww’, 'cool', 'weird', 'dork', 'nerd', ‘creepy’, amongst other great literary achievements by american teenagers.  Mark Twain, Hemmingway, didn’t know what they were missing. THIS is certainly a new twist on the evolution of Orw...
