Xingapore and Sinonazism in s.e.Asia
It's interesting to know that xingapore's cable and broadband companies are sort of partnering with China's telecom firms like 'hwa wei' as well. Wonder when these people are going to grow up, get egalitarian, and stop sticking to their own - and stop caring about falling chinese birth rates as if that is an issue in what is supposed to be a multicultural state. And, by the way, the U.S. has issued alerts against Hwa Wei and ZTE as security threats and possibly linked to China's government and military.

Singapore, after all, is going to fast-track china's citizens into taking over the rest of the regionBut i suppose in the chinese supremacist state of xingapore, that is not a problem. (calling it a ‘chinese supremacist’ state is not an ‘opinion’ but a matter of definition, i.e. stating that singapore must always have a chinese majority; that our 'mother tongue will be mandarin in two generations'; whining about falling chinese birth rates; promoting chinese culture over all others; setting up SAP schools to give a the chinese a leg up over everyone else; importing chinese from china to maintain and increase the chinese vs. others ratio; etc, etc, is that which goes into the definition of a racial supremacist state.) Singapore, after all, is going to fast-track china's citizens into taking over the rest of the region....and ed is most possibly one of the few, or the only one to realise that. Just as singapore set up SAP schools in the past to fast-track the local chinese into taking over the politics, cultural development, and economy of the state, singapore as a whole is now purposed to serve as a 'SAP school' for the new Chinese to dominate the region.
I’ve even heard of cases where Indians from India who’ve stayed here for some years, earn quite a bit, and do social work, have their PR applications rejected, whilst new local students from China are invited to apply for a PR - from my Irish brother-in-law who teaches foreign students English. Personally, i’ve heard first-hand accounts of rejected PR applications from non-Chinese who married locally, stayed here for years, and have had children as well. Said one Thai girl in her 40s to me, “every month i have to save money and put it into my bank in Thailand because i know if my (local) husband die, i have to go back”. And she told me that quite a few of her Thai girlfriends are in a similar situation.
China has the numbers to ethnically and culturally colonise the entire region, and given their 2 millennia-old history and culture of aggression, self-absorption, and fascist monoculturalism, they will not know how to do otherwise.I told V (singapore chinese girl), my constant companion over the past decade, “this multiracialism that you see now is only temporary. In years to come, most of them, except the Chinese, will be sent back and their jobs will be taken over by the continuing inflow of Chinese, and their kids. The local chinese will fuse with the new chinese, and singapore will become another China, and a regional hub for a greater China acquiring regional corporations or bringing them within the sino-xingapore umbrella, and also enabling chinese economic, cultural, and political colonisation of the region.
Many of those non-Chinese whom are given PRs will also leave the country as it becomes avowedly Chinese. In the historical past, the Chinese and Indians who came into singapore, which was a Malay state, did so to escape chinese civil wars or to make money. India was democratic enough for the Indians to consider returning after having made money, and hence, many of them did. The chinese didn’t have much of a choice as things were pretty bad in China. In the present, the Chinese were like the Indians in the past. They are here to make money, but xingapore had been turned into enough of a chinese state for them to see it as their home-away-from-home, and hence, they will stay, whilst many of the new Indians will leave due to chinese penchant for ‘their own’.

LKY and Co. know that singapore will not be able to handle this extra population that is coming in at present, but, with increasing education, experience, and population explosion, the chinese will be forced, and also be financially able, to move into the rest of the region. That can be plausibly believed to be their long-term plan given their supremacist moves in other areas. LKY and the ed meister appreciate one important principle - why lead the horse to the water? It's best that you incite thirst in it so that it would seek it out itself....and lead you to it as well;) (ed's quote) However, if this is not Lee and Co.'s intention, it will nevertheless be the consequence.
Singapore, will serve, not as the ‘little red dot’ as it is fondly called by the ignorant and juvenile, but as the little yellow boil that will burst and send its monocultural lava flowing into the rest of the region. All those xenophobic whiners about singapore not being able to handle these extra new foreigners don't realise that singapore is just purposed to serve as a stepping stone for regional chinese domination. The plight of the Malays and Indians in xingapore-today will be the plight of the non-Chinese in much of s.e.Asia in the future. China has the numbers to ethnically and culturally colonise the entire region, and given their 2 millennia-old history and culture of aggression, self-absorption, and fascist monoculturalism, they will not know how to do otherwise.
Singapore, will serve, not as the ‘little red dot’ as it is fondly called by the ignorant and juvenile, but as the little yellow boil that will burst and send its monocultural lava flowing into the rest of the region. I have to give credit to LKY for such a scheme. Very shrewd indeed. But certainly a misuse of intelligence, which, the ed believes, should always be for the common and egalitarian good. I suppose, in this day, age, and region such a perspective is quite archaic.

postscript: this is not an anti-chinese statement, but an anti-fascist and anti-racist one. If you put anyone of any race through such a situation, they will turn out the same. It is a cultural thing, not a racial one. Unfortunately, in Chinese history, having lost to the fascist government in 221 b.c., and the intellectually vibrant chinese of the preceding Chou period were put down and their intellectual legacy burnt, the culture that developed served to reinforce the status quo that is well-illustrated in the translation of the chinese words for 'China', which is 'central land' or 'middle kingdom'. This perspective has remained till today, and will, logically, serve as the basis upon which sense is made of s.e.Asian and global potentials.
When a race and such a (legalist-confucian) culture is made into one, then an anti-racist statement will inevitably come across as a racist one. The fault here is not in the latter, but the former. The chinese will do well in not allowing themselves to be used as pawns in the supremacist schemes of their leaders. They will gain by apathy. But they, consequently, will not be able to absolve themselves from allegations that they profitted from racism even if they aren't racists themselves. In such a case, the chinese are themselves victims of these strategies, but being underdeveloped by such a situation, they will, upon taking control of the reins of cultural, political, and economic development, will have no other standards other than a racially/culturally biased one to determine what is right and wrong. And hence, they will become the progenitors of the state's supremacist strategies.

I'm chinese. I never thought about all this things. It is difficult not to feel offended. But maybe anybody will feel the same if they just think about themselves and not others. But you are right. People may say you are racist. But maybe they also don't want to consider what you say so they can just enjoy singapore the way it is. I don't know. But you make me think. If i am honest i msut admit you are right. I wish singapore can be equal like you say. Maybe too late i think.

Unless they appreciate other cultures right? But other cultures in singapore now are very in the minority because the government favor the local chinese and china chinese and the opposition also don't bother. What you are saying that it is not race but culture is true. But because only one culture is here now nothing is going to change with the race because they all follow the same culture. Hopeless.

ReplyDeleteExcellent analysis of the current motives of LKY and his Chinese Supremacist government, Ed. However, one must wonder, what do LKY and co stand do gain from assisting China in its economic and cultural conquest of the region? Political longevity? More wealth and power perhaps? The chance for Singapore to become a vassal state of china and a launching ground for CCP's initiatives in the region? With a 3 million salary for both his son and probably more for his daughter in-law, why isn't he contented?
ReplyDeleteThe perspective that had ruled china for more than 2000 years lives on in the elite governing china, and LKY and co.
ReplyDeletePower, greed, compensation for past losses, cultural revivalism and supremacism, etc, are that which comprises the ambitions of some, and within a capitalist scheme of things, in varying degrees, the ambitions of many I suppose.
LKY always knew that Singapore couldn't stand alone. If it did, it would have to ally itself with different others, including the only true multicultural state in s.e.Asia, India. However, that would compromise the political longevity of PAP as regional multiculturalism would still have an impact on local intellectual and cultural development and pose a challenge to them. To turn singapore into a Chinese Confucian state ensured the PAP's longevity to the present and beyond.
But this aim would be incomplete if it did not join itself to china at the hip and become a regional force to be reckoned with. If it joined with the Malay states and India, it would most certainly still be a regional force given that singapore's mix of races/cultures would have seen much perspectival, intellectual, and creative development. But, the party's positioned would be compromised. Hence, turning into a confucian pro-Chinese state was the only option. You could call it a politically pragmatic move on the part of LKY, the party, and son. Joining it to china would not only see its local power being maintained, it would also see its regional power being given a boost. Singapore will not become a vassal state. It would be like HK, except with autonomy. Whilst HK might be a 'special administrative region', Singapore's role might be more like a 'Special adminisTRATING Region'. Singapore might be doing the 'administrating' of new and upcoming acquisitions. You could call it the 'favoured son' of the 'son of heaven', that is China.
Hey,
ReplyDeleteWhat you've said in the first 2 paragraphs as well as the account on the Chinese gaining access to the US are true.
However, the issue on the Chinese nationals gaining Singapore citizenship without renouncing their original citizenship is not entirely true. Actually, every permanent resident who plans to be Singapore citizen have to renounce their foreign citizenship before getting the Singapore citizenship. However, in the case of people who have renounced the Chinese citizenship, they are entitled to reclaim their Chinese citizenship for only once. So eventually they can have dual citizenship. Although having multiple citizenship is not a sinister thing per se, but the non-Chinese have to be wary of the Chinese nationals who use other countries as a platform to gain access to other countries and thereafter extend their influence.
And I don't think the Singapore government has gone to the extent of giving SAF scholarships to students from China. Even if they were to be given such privilege, I doubt they'd be allowed to access to military intelligence, let alone the US one. And there isn't much US military intelligence that the Chinese can extract from via the SAF. The point here is that China may use Singapore as a proxy to extend their influence, but this may not be the best approach.
Hey,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, the government were labelling those Catholic social activists as "eurocommunist" and "Marxist" instead of simply "communist" or "Maoist" mainly because the government did not want to offend the members of the Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) who, at that time, were based in Southern Thailand and who were from Maoist school of thought. This was done so as not to impede the process of patching things up with the CPM members by inviting them back into Singapore and offering their families with cushy jobs. That's why we could see some children of the ex-members of the CPM working in the senior positions in the government sector as well as becoming PAP politicians. You could say that the government were trying to incorporate all the dissidents so as to ensure that there would not be any subversive element to challenge the government. And as a consequence, though that might probably be unintended, China was kept sanitised. I suspect the government might think that the "Marxist Conspiracy" was the perfect solution to maintain political longevity.
Secondly, when it comes to the application of the citizenship or permanent residence, race is always the first criteria, not academic qualification or working experience as many may have been led to believe. Government actually determine yearly racial quota on the potential new citizens and permanent residents based on the 1965 racial demographics. You could say that Singapore government has been trying very hard to maintain the racial proportion of the population. To put it more specifically, all applicants are placed into 4 categories - the usual C, M, I and O, as we all know, and thereafter the selection is done within each category until the quota of the individual category is reached. So it isn't very surprising that the Thais or Filipinos/Filipinas or even Eurasians don't really stand a chance in the face of Caucasian expatriates holding senior positions in multi-national corporations and even some Caucasians would not be successful. As for the Indian category, many Malaysian Indians who applied have been turned down due to the fact that there are many skilled Indian nationals who are making such application as well. From what I gathered, the former have realised that they stand a much better chance in the UK and other countries and have moved there. I'm not too familiar with the Malay category, though it must be said that the government tried to approach Malay professionals in Indonesia, Australia, UK and even South Africa (the Malay inhabitants there are known as Cape Malay) and Suriname in South America and so on, to convince them to come over to Singapore to settle here, but to no avail. And it's not very surprising that the new Chinese hail from all classes there are many vacancies to fill up as opposed to other categories. I believe that all these are done to keep up with the charade of multiculturalism while preserving the top-down Legalist culture so as to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) and to maintain political longevity. But right now I still do not understand why the government would want to strictly adhere to the 1965 racial proportion. Perhaps this is the tried and tested method?
Thirdly, with the process of degeneration of the populace, people have grown to be antagonistic towards one another. However, it hasn't occurred to them that they are just pawns in the scheme of things, especially since they have lost the introspective and empathetic faculty as a result of having to get used with the top-down pressures from the policies as implemented by the government. There isn't much hope of salvaging the situation simply because people are too distracted from effecting the real change in the socio-political affairs.
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteIt's true that Sg does not allow dual citizenship. But lots of PRCs immigrating to Singapore are not asked to provide proof of renuciation of Chinese citizenship (on purpose, I think) and even when asked to, given the level of corruption in PRC, they buy a forged renuciation document in China and produce false evidence of the renunciation to the Sg govt, which happily accepts the "proof", one eye closed, no questions asked, wink-wink. :)
None of the new Singapore citizens from China I have met have professed any allegiance to Sg, all of them have told me that they are still loyal to China and intend to return there one day. Unless the people I spoke to are lying :)
And yes, the Sg Govt is really that desperate for ethnic Chinese to boost the majority population and will do anything to entice them over. They do grant SAF and even President's scholarships to recently-minted PRC citizens. A newspaper article came out in the Straits Times a few years back in which a girl from PRC took up Sg citizenship and got an SAF scholarship to study at an Ivy League college in the USA. She was pictured smiling with other scholarship recipients wearing a green camouflage SAF army uniform. So please believe what I say. :)
Hi 007,
ReplyDeleteIt's just that the dual citizenship is not officially recognised by the government, nothing more, nothing less. Anyway, what I mentioned in my earlier comment is about the official procedure of a Chinese national getting the Xg citizenship and reclaiming the PRC citizenship thereafter. Anyway, given the Xg's penchant for importing more new Chinese as compared to other ethnic groups to replace the locals, it won't be very surprising that there is such administration lapse by the relevant authorities.
Anyway, it's not wrong for any foreigners or Singapore citizens who once grew up overseas to work in Xg temporary before returning back to their hometown per se, Chinese nationals included. They have to sacrifice their labour to their employers, most of which are Singaporeans. In that sense, the foreigners are equally as likely, or more likely to be exploited by the employers as compared to the local employees. Although they may be perceived to be more privileged as compared to the locals, it is indeed true only in having relatively more career opportunities as compared to the locals, but nothing more than that. So once they get employed, they are exploited with longer working hours and lower wages. Furthermore, the foreigners have to contend with xenophobic insensitivities by the locals. So there's not much reason why foreigners who work in Xg should develop a sense of loyalty towards Xg, especially those disillusioned ones. Though I've to acknowledge that there are indeed quite a significant number of foreigners who have decided to settle here permanently as their living condition in Xg is indeed better than their countries of origin. What we should take issue here instead is the government's importation of foreigners selectively based on race, so as to get the most benefits out of it, like importation of majority ethnic group in the highest absolute numbers compared to other ethnic groups to reinforce the Legalist culture, racial profiling in job positions to boost the economy and so on.
(Here's a trivia, not directly relevant to the article. Prior to 1950 (if I remember the year correctly), many 1st wave and 2nd wave Chinese immigrants who worked in Singapore expressed the desire to return to China for good after earning enough money here, just like what some of the new Chinese would plan to do in the future. However, the former were trapped in a difficult situation as the Chinese government, who were already taken over by the Communist Party of China (CPC), decided not to allow the local Chinese to return to China. Thereafter, David Marshall passed the law (if I remember correctly, have to verify again) to allow the local Chinese to stay in Singapore. That's the reason why the Chinese remained majority until the PAP government maintained the racial proportion artificially.)
Yeah the government is indeed enticing the ethnic Chinese from everywhere in the world so that the ethnic Chinese remains the majority here. And just checked from the google and you're right that SAF has offered the Chinese nationals scholarships to pursue their undergraduate studies overseas. But it's not known whether those Chinese nationals would be given a higher level of security clearance to access to the military intelligence. I guess time will tell as to whether they'll be given positions to access to the intelligence. We wouldn't be sure whether having SAF commissioned officers who were ex-Chinese citizens would compromise US military security, though personally I don't suppose the US Armed Forces would divulge much of the classified military information to the SAF.
Hi Ang,
ReplyDeleteI was stating that 'Eurocommunist' was favoured over 'communist' because immediately after the 'marxist conspiracy' crackdown, the PAP began turning singapore into a chinese state, culturally-speaking, by moving against westernisation, the multicultural and english-speaking catholic community, promoting 'asian values', and chinese culture as a whole, etc. At the same time, LKY spoke about maintaining the racial 'balance' in favour of the chinese.
When the aformentioned events are taken into consideration, it appears to be purposed for more than the incorporation of CPM members since all of these approaches were not necessary for said incorporation, but would be necessary if singapore was to be joined to china at the hip. In fact, given this, one could even say that the incorporation of the CPM members was part of this greater plan. It is these immediately following events that gives much meaning to the usage of the 'eurocommunist' term as opposed to 'communist'.
Thanks for the info and your views on the maintenance of xingapore's racial 'balance'. You should have gone into political science or sociology, but then again, that would be a wrong choice in the xingapore of today;)
Hi Ang, thanks for your reply. I don't have anything against foreigners using Singapore as a place to make money or even as a stepping stone to the west as long as they are honest and upfront about their intentions. In that case, they should simply take up permanent residence instead of citizenship. What I have beef with is the fact that these people are taking up citizenship on false pretences, i.e. to gain the privileges of being a Singapore citizen (subsidized education, SAF scholarships, avoiding exploitation by employers, etc.) without harboring any real love or attachment for the country they have falsely pledged themselves to. They are simply opportunists, who will leave at the first sign of trouble.
ReplyDeleteWith regards to security clearance, once a PRC national takes up Sg citizenship, they are given the smae security clearance access. The Sg govt does not take their former PRC citzenship into account, and all SAF scolars (e.g. the PRC girl I mentioned earlier) are made commissioned officers (Liutenant, Captain and above) and given authority and security clearance to enable them to do their jobs. To not do so would render them ineffective and unable to repay the country for the vast sum invested in their education and training. Being ethnic Chinese, the new SAF soldiers from PRC have a higher security access than the locally born Singapore Malays, and are given posts in high security and very sensitive areas, such as commandos, guards, air force, navy and armored cavalry. LKY trusts these opportunists even more than he does our local malays, who try as much as they can, cannot even get a job in the local air force! lol

It confirms that the Xg's government (IME) has positioned itself as a broker of US technology and expertise to China, and like a double agent involved in international intrigue, is heavily leaking sensitive US data to CCP-linked companies in order to gain favor with China.

ReplyDeletePolice defend probe into Singapore deathBy Christine SpolarSingapore police released a statement on Sunday defending their investigation into the death of Shane Todd, an American engineer who had been employed by IME, a government research agency, found hanged in his Singapore apartment in June. The Financial Times reported on Todd’s death in its Weekend magazine. The police had previously declined to answer the FT’s questions about the death of Todd, whose body was found in his apartment after his last day at work at IME. Todd’s parents, Rick and Mary Todd, believe the police have mishandled the investigation and too quickly considered his death a suicide. The family has asked that America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation assist and be involved in investigating a possible murder. The Singapore police must request FBI assistance before the US agency can get involved. The police on Sunday said they had kept the FBI “informed” but offered no other details. The Todd family was told in an email from the police that the inquest was scheduled for March.Todd headed a research team at IME that focused on the development of gallium nitride, a substance that can be used in both commercial and military applications, from light-emitting displays and cellular phone base stations, to radar and satellite communications. From early 2012 Todd repeatedly told his family he was worried that he was compromising US national security with his work on a project at IME that involved a Chinese company. After Todd’s death, the family found an external computer hard drive in his Singapore apartment with work files including one labelled “Huawei” – which appears to be a plan for a joint project between IME and Huawei Technologies, the Chinese telecoms company, for the development of gallium nitride. The FT’s article published at the weekend explained other findings of the hard drive as well – including analysis that showed that three days after Todd’s death, someone accessed his hard drive and individual files on IME and a technical “recipe” for gallium nitride research. The police, who removed laptops and cell phones from the apartment, apparently were unaware of the hard drive until the Todd family alerted them to its existence. ... "The Todds and the consular officer were ushered into an office where they met Detective Muhammad Khaldun. He read aloud a police description of how Shane had hanged himself then handed over two printouts of suicide notes, which the detective said were found on Shane’s computer. One was addressed “Dear everyone”, another “Dear Mom and Dad”, and there were three brief ones to his girlfriend, his brothers, and “friends”. The police told the Todds that they had Shane’s computer, mobile phone and appointment book, all found in the apartment.Mrs Todd read the notes and handed them back to the detective. “My son might have killed himself, but he did not write this,” she said with some calm. The notes were surprising, she said later. One praised IME and its management. Another apologised for being a burden to his family. Neither sounded like Shane. One, Shane had never been a burden – “he had excelled at everything he put his mind to,” Mrs Todd said. Two, “he hated the way IME was run and the way top management treated people.” Shane’s girlfriend later said she was sure Shane’s last moments were not spent lauding IME. “He hated his job,” she said."...
... "the Todds simply couldn’t believe that Shane took his own life. The Todds therefore asked the mortuary to photograph Shane’s body, in the coffin, and they sent those snapshots to a pathologist recommended by a family member. Dr Edward H. Adelstein, chief of pathology at the Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Missouri, examined the photos and autopsy report and wrote a review that stoked the Todds’ suspicions. Adelstein said Shane’s deeply bruised knuckles and hands should have been listed in the original autopsy. He also said the neck wounds did not look like injuries from a suicide but indicated a rapid death. He suggested a scenario far different to that outlined by the Singapore authorities: Shane fought an attacker and died by a garrotting."...
